The desire to roam is within every person. I am also no different from this. It was 3rd March 2020, I and my three elder brothers went to visit a very unique place of Arunachal Pradesh which is known as Parashuram Kund. Before going to start my experience I would like to tell you about the place. India is a country of pilgrimages, here you will find mysterious pilgrimages everywhere. In India, pilgrimage has a special significance, people come here not only to ask for their wishes but also atone for their sins.
way to Parshuram Kund via Tezu, Arunachal Pradesh |
Parshuram Kund is a Hindu pilgrimage center situated on the Brahmaputra plateau in the lower reaches of the Lohit River and 46 km from Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh. There is a mythological story behind this beautiful place. It is believed that Lord Parashuram, on the orders of his father Rishi Jamadagni beheaded his mother Renuka with his axe. Since he had committed one of the worst crimes of killing one's mother, the axe got stuck to his hand. His father pleased with his obedience decided to give him a boon to which he asked for his mother to be restored back to life. Even after his mother was brought back to life the axe could not be removed from his hand. He repented for his crime and on taking the advice of eminent rishis of that time, he arrived at the banks of Lohit River to wash his hands in its pure waters. It was a way to cleanse him of all the sins. As soon as he dipped his hands into the waters the axe immediately got detached and since then the site where he washed his hands became a place of worship and came to be known by sadhus as Parashuram Kund.

After visit Golden Pagoda we managed our stay at Golden Pagoda Eco Camp. You can't imagine the beauty without going there. As we all are boys so we decided to take a dormitory room where there were 4 single beds. At 9 pm the hotel boy calls us for dinner. Even it is a veg dinner but was truly too tasteable. After a wonderful night the next day, we started our journey to our main destination. Generally, there is a shortcut to reach Parshuram Kund via Wakro but we took the long way via Tezu which is covers hills and curvey roads. At Tezu we met John who is a local fellow he has great knowledge about tourism. Recently he started a homestay near Tezu. We visited there and he served us organic green tea which was planted by himself.

The main Kund |
The curiosity of my mind was also increasing as much as we
were going forward. When I was seeing a
little bit of Kund from the hilltops, the curiosity grew automatically.
Suddenly my brother stopped the car and shout "Ami ahi Paai Golu"
(means we reached). The view of Kund from the bridge made me speechless. I
thought that the serenity is only here. To reach the main Kund we have to
walk many steps down but my brothers were very tired and they decided to
check-in at the hotel. But my curiosity wasn't coming to end. I told them to
check-in at the hotel and pick me up from the main gate after 1 hour. From here I was alone and was feeling a bit scared because gradually it started getting dark. I took long steps to
reach there soon. Exactly after 15 mints, I reached there. It looked even more
beautiful and thrilling than I thought. I am sure that its natural beauty will definitely fascinate you. The cool wind, the sound of the water flow of the river between
two mountains, and the blue water made the place more beautiful than one can
imagine. After keeping all these beautiful
memories on our camera, mind, and heart we move on to our next destination. For
others, the destination ends here but my curiosity never allows me to stop in
one place.
